Zuora is the first on-demand company focused on creating products that help companies build, manage and grow subscription businesses. Required Skills
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills; capable of writing proposals or papers, acting as a vendor liaison, making presentations to customers or client audiences or professional peers, and working closely with technical management.
• Leading and managing (directly and indirectly) a 24x7x365 organization of infrastructure, IT and production operations staff.
• Executing on programs, projects, investment plans, business cases to meet strategic objectives, as well as ensuring that SLA's are being maintained.
• Working collaboratively with various Architecture and Product Development organizations, to provide input and deliver solutions that support various business initiatives.
• Able to assess current and future workload demands and articulate operational supply constraints (staffing / infrastructure resources.)
• Ability to solve problems quickly and automate processes.
• A strong understanding of Linux security, vulnerability assessments and system hardening.
• Strong understanding in and experience virtualization technologies (VMware and Xen)
• Management of very large compute node farms to support one or more production applications with 99.95+ uptime SLA.
• Experience in running enterprise high availability mission critical applications where downtime is to be avoided at all cost.
• Strong Linux system administration skills.
• Proven ability to direct and make progress on multiple projects/issues simultaneously.
• Strong troubleshooting ability for issues in complex environments, with a proven ability to pursue multiple possible causes and/or solutions in parallel.
• Deep technical skills in system administration, network administration.
Required Background
• 7+ years in a technical management/leadership experience.
• 5+ years hands-on experience in an IT Operations organization.
Desirable Background and Skills
• A degree in computer science or a related field.
• Experience in supporting and implementing Java/MySQL architecture based applications.
• Experience in supporting and implementing Oracle RAC database environments.
• Experience in supporting and implementing monitoring frameworks such as (HPOV, Unicenter, Tivoli, Nimsoft.)
• Experience in running financial services or payment processing systems applications.
• Experience in network, system and application security (penetration testing, DDOS mitigation, application vulnerability testing, etc.)
Appropriate Responsibilities
• Manages a large, complex site or network.
• Set technical direction for data center design, implementation and management.
• Build staffing plans aligned with business objectives and milestones.
• Works under general direction from Senior Management.
• Give presentations to Senior Management on the objectives, challenges and state of production IT.
• Establishes/recommends policies on system use and services.
• Provides technical lead and/or supervises system administrators, system programmers, data base administrators, IT staff or others of equivalent seniority.
• Has purchasing authority and responsibility for purchase justification.
• Oversee the production data centers to insure the smooth delivery of The Service to the company’s customers.
