The job responsibilities include:
Review, evaluate, and approve SW engineering requests for use of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS), primarily evaluating inbound technology licenses. Provide approval decisions based on legal and technical criteria for use of FOSS in products, as well as outbound publications. Work closely with the Legal department to escalate requests for use of high-risk licenses to attorneys. Work with CCP engineering and OEM/ODM vendors to ensure FOSS is used in accordance to license restrictions and obligations.
Required Skills
- Experience with Embedded system development.
- Experience with C or Java programming languages.
- Strong background in networking and software design.
- Knowledge and understanding of Open Source software licenses and software development practices.
